Why play on double speed?
I watched the dev playing and they are almost constantly in double speed. I know this feature is useful in most games to pass times easier on research etc. but is there a benefit to always using it here?

Preference mostly, some people prefer to play on faster speeds, others on slower, also to some extent we've played the game for hundreds and hundreds of hours.

Personally I always play most games at normal speed. Unless there's really long periods between stuff that I need to do.

Most levels you'll find yourself on double speed at some point just waiting for things to happen.

I personally have only used standard speed-and pause sometimes. There seems to be stuff to do the whole time so I haven't felt the need to go faster, which is good. Usually faster speeds are sort of a crutch in builder games, as they become necessary if the game tends to stall a lot and you're waiting for stuff to happen. I haven't found it to be a problem here. I've been decorating, designing and optimizing while the game rolls along.

I guess not going fast is the reason why it's taken me somewhat long to finish the levels, though (1+ hour per level or so...).

I was more hoping the game wasn't too lax in the sense that it just let's you skate along in double time without any repercussions. I too like to micromanage and rarely utilise time skippage.

Ha, we're exact opposites I think, I never want to feel pressed for time.
