I think this is not that likely, becasue it is just a small timekiller game, developed as a side project. And that wave counter is incentive eough.

The fact that it is a small timekiller has nothing to do with it... Timberman, surfingers, HyperRougue... All are games with similar amounts of 'content' all of which have achievements AT LEAST, the only reason they feature in my library
