Good question! I believe the studio will get the keys from steam, then they'll give them to humble to distribute. Likely you will get an email from the humble store. Ill post again when I find out for sure.

there is newsletters comes out from time to time and there is a discord server for the game where you can even talk to the developer, you can go see them your self :2017meatball:

Brian, one of the lead developers, posts regularly on Discord. So if you're dying to see what's going on feel free to stop by and say whats up. Post in the PTFG_Discussion channel with questions about the game, or stop by General to talk to the people who follow game dev closely.

There is no release day as of yet, Aronwn, though we are approaching the Alpha release. Depending on the reception of that, we'll know how much (or little!) we'll need to refine the gameplay.

I think this just means that not every possible controller is going to work. I think one user said his switch controller wasn't working, but a developer mentioned looking into it. I know it works with xbox and ps4 controllers, and I think steam controller is working now as well.
