The Thrill of the Fight

The Thrill of the Fight

Thrill of the Fight 2 coming initially to Meta Quest
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I guess us PCVR players just have to wait.

"The Thrill of the Fight 2 will launch initially only on Meta Quest 2 and 3, but a version for PC-tethered VR headsets is "very likely," says Fitz."

Our Early Access release is about as early in development as we're comfortable putting the game in players' hands. It's launching only with bare-bones multiplayer, and there's still a lot for us to do before we come out of Early Access. Especially early on, we want to be able to focus on fleshing out the game instead of on juggling support for multiple platforms. Once the game gets rounded out a bit, we will look at supporting more platforms, and Steam/PCVR is what we're planning on being next up on the list.

Meta is a real struggle fpr devs i can imagine.
But on the other hand they will make VR a strong backbone...

so sick of facebook trash exclusives. Just release the game for everyone. This is why VR isn't taking off.

This.
I have the utmost respect for the devs for making such a good game and for proceeding to make a sequel with multiplayer, but this is an incredibly poor strategy for the sequel.
Saying this as somebody who owns a Meta Quest, btw. It would be better if it was available for everyone.

Quest is the largest VR market. It makes sense to develop for the largest market, so the most people can play the game.

The real reason VR isn't taking off is because even the Quest is too expensive for most, (it's also too small for my head lmao), and that's the most accessible option.
How much does the Valve VR thing cost? Like £900. Sony's is like £500 and Apple's is like £3500. They're an expensive novelty toy atm.

If PCVR gamers actually bought VR games, VR developers would gladly consider PCVR first and foremost. The reality is that PCVR gamers mostly just cry and whine, and maybe buy 1-3 VR games a year then wonder why more devs don't develop for PCVR anymore. Devs go to where the money is at.

Looks like a last ditch cash grab. Boxing Underdog looks way better.

"Other platforms coming soon" means when the Quest version fails we will cash grab the exact same game onto PC where it will also fail miserably.

How? They've got other people to work with them on this and spent several years making it.

If they wanted to cash grab they'd have just AI upscaled ToTF's graphics and added a couple more NPC boxers.

I just tried it (first and only Meta / Facebook / Quest Purchase) and it's so cool. I really recommend everybody to give it a try. And it's like 5€. So you can just re-buy it on Steam later on.

Well worth invested 5€ for me.

Still cheaper than a good 4k pc monitor.

I doubt it's a cash grab. The original dev's a decent one. I've been playing totf 2 pretty much since its inception. I've not seen many indie devs like Ian anywhere.

Boxing Underdog looks ok. Dunno how good it will be. Can't be much worse than creed if it is bad and creed sucked when it came out.

Also if you want to post idiocy there are better forums with pages of that BS.
