Put another way, true "room scale" games like TotF are centered around the middle of your play area, not centered around where you happen to be standing. If you want to change the placement of the game, you need to change the placement of your play area. There is no "standing" mode, which is why the store description states room scale only and gives a minimum free play area size.
thanks next game you should try adding both this and have away to place center are self if you could
If you want to take advantage of moving around your play area, you can't recenter around yourself. If you do, your play area won't line up with your boundaries anymore.
There's no concept of a good spot and direction, because you're meant to move around your entire play area. It's all supposed to be a good spot and direction if it's within your boundaries.
I understand it's not always like that in practice, but I'm relying on what these VR platforms provide. Native SteamVR actually let's you resize and move your play area within your boundaries, which sounds exactly like what you're looking for (and I wish they all had that option), but I'm not sure what your options are through WMR.
