How to hire units? (tutorial error)

Hello,

I haven't played this game in ages, and I've lost all basic understanding of the game's mechanics. I decided to go back to the tutorial to re-learn the basic gaming verbs.

Here's the problem: the tutorial isn't helping.

Following the tutorial, I'm at the point where I've built a hideout, which I have. Clicking on the hideout room brings up a side panel with three options - Hideout (which the yellow arrow is pointing to), Demolish, and Almanac.

None of these are helping me figure out this most basic of tasks. I don't want to expand the hideout.

Click on the units icon (I think it's the second one down on the left, below the rooms). You should be able to hire the Horde creatures you've unlocked.

If you're talking about the Snots that mine gold and stuff, they can be hired from the research tree.
