Need help with Storming of Dollaran.
The difficulty was a gentle curve for me until this map. It shot straight up like a skyscraper, verging on laughably impossible. I'm supposed to do like 10 things at once in just a few minutes... its freaking rediculous!

Here's the basic goals in the first few minutes:
-Keep the Crowley alive.
-Support him with your tiny bit of level 1's constantly against increasing enemies that will overwhelm you.
-Somehow at the same time attack and secure a magic well to get the evil magic coming.
-Somehow at the same time destroy the enemy villages.
-Research and build the infrastructure for and play tons of traps.
-Defend additional forces now attacking your dungeon.

Compared to all previous missions, it's like someone hit the Fast Forwards button on this one and all the objectives come rushing at you faster than you can even think.

Can someone please give help on this mission besides the obvious "git gud"?:steamsad:

What? You don't want to git gud?

Quickly make an army of 7 Arachnids (might be worth tossing starting creatures, imps I think? down the hatch at the Dungeon Heart, because arachnids are better), they are the best creature for this kind of mission which rewards being highly offensive. Micro them to keep them alive (pull back weak ones, send forward strong ones) and take advantage of demon regeneration. Be aggressive on the overworld. Use Demon Portal to move your army back to the base and to defend Crowley when you absolutely must, and note Demon Portal can be cast at an Island of Evilness near the flag.

Order your zombies to follow Crowley, they will escort him forward, until the heroes/towers kill the zombies, it's okay. It'll take the heroes a while to push Crowley back and the zombies cost nothing to throw away.

Use your evilness to invest in more Arachnids and maybe some Succubi. Spells are also very, helpful if you are "gud" enough to use them. I hotkey Demon Portal, Mana Shield and Meteor Swarm to " , . / " so I can quickly spam them on a battle.

Once your arachnids have mostly wiped out everything on the overworld then take your big powerful army and escort Crowley forward.

Cool thanks. Btw.. when you say order creatures to follow another creature.. you mean you can click on Crowley and they will follow him? Can you also set rally points for anything that spawns in the graveyard? It would be so nice if you could set a rally point on the over world and just spam zombies automatically.

Yes, if you order a creature to move onto another creature, it will escort that creature (follow it and attack things near it). But as far as I know you can't rally creatures.

A good tip for rush missions is to focus on building and upgrading demons. Arachnid and imps specifcally. The arachnid can tank decently well for the imps (also their range is shorter so they are automatically the front line.)

They have very little downtime but you can quickly end up in a fail state if you run out of mana, just make sure to have one or two producing some constantly and you can pretty much rush most of the map.

You can send them back to defend if not getting traps and just send them back out afterwards. They are alot squishier than something like horde, but their damage is great.

Initially, you don't have to worry about the Pit Fiend (Crowley). Usually, you would notice when the 'Good guys' are near him, and the force was sizable enough that early game army should be able to take care of it. Heck, you can use Crowley's power to buy yourself more time for your army to support him

The first half of this mission should be securing your side of the overworld (from the southwest entrance to the cliff where the catapult ambush is), doing researches to expand your minions and dungeon, and securing your dungeon. I know it is a tedious task since you have to monitor Crowley as well, but it should be easy.

Once all the areas on your side of the map is conquered, proceeded to Yaina's side of the map by either the path on the far right or through the defenses in front of the northwest dungeon entrance. Clear the catapults and surrounding strategic 'Good' areas before pushing Crowley to the front gate of Dollaran

After this, it should be routine: push into Dollaran and kick Yaina Overproud's rear

The mission it self was kinda OK for me. The problem is trying to beat all the camps in 40min... if I follow the arachnids strategy, should be good enough?

Destroying all the hero camps and beating the mission in under 40 minutes are two different achievements, but it is absolutely possible to get both at the same time with arachnids or demons.

I love all the warcraft 3 references here.

You don't have to push Crowley all the way at once, you can kill the heros driving him back and then walk him back up to the front line and leave him there and he will be fine until the next enemy push. This gives you lots of time to react when they start pushing him again.

Get things of his back

get your first island of evil

consolidate your hero lanes into one

build an army and clear the map like any other mission

It's less urgent than it's pretending to be.
