did you maybe change your start options and activated the unity screen selector?
For example mine reads: "E:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dungeons 3\Dungeons3Bin.exe" %command%
Steam will now bypass the launcher
2K had an ad based launcher added to some of their games which uses the qtweb framework to grab web adverts, qtweb has a longrunning bug where the process often fails to close and has a memory leak which can be pretty severe if you don't notice.
In comparison I haven't found any issues with the Kalypso launcher yet so this one is far from the worst.
Or you could just change the name of the Kalypso Launcher inside the games directory while your there to solve the problem. Mine I just changed the .exe to .bck and launching from steam then bypasses the launcher
Any time the game updates or if steam verifies files it will replace the Kalypso Launcher, thats a quicker workaround initially but depending on what Kalypso do could become tedious having to keep going back to remove the launcher.
If the average rating is bad, the company sells less game, and will try to make better next time.
Necroing thread to say thank you for saving me the headache of going through the usual trial and error I go through to circumvent launchers. Thank you!
No problem, the same process works on almost any launcher, the only one I've had to use a different bypass method for was Total war so its worth trying in other games if you need to bypass a launcher
this no longer works
I just reinstalled the game to check and the %command% bypass is still working (although I will edit my previous post to accommodate the change in steam UI for launch options)
It is easy to mistype so that's probably your issue.
Make sure the path to dungeons3bin is wrapped in quotation marks and there is a space before %command%
So if I use my install path again for example this is how it looks in launch options:
"E:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dungeons 3\Dungeons3Bin.exe" %command%
If I put in:
E:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dungeons 3\Dungeons3Bin.exe %command%
it wont work, neither will:
"E:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dungeons 3\Dungeons3Bin.exe"%command%
If you can't find the error let me know what you are entering as the launch option and I'll help you find the typo.
