Mini Launcher.
Honestly... why is there now some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mini launcher added to starting the game?
Does any one know how to remove it/ change it so it just boots the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game like it use to ?

(Edit) I wrote this in not exactly the best mood, right around the time the extra launcher was first added. Not exactly proud of it but I didn't wish to remove the thread as it has helped others. Thanks to all those that have helped!

It is easy to mistype so that's probably your issue.

Make sure the path to dungeons3bin is wrapped in quotation marks and there is a space before %command%

So if I use my install path again for example this is how it looks in launch options:
"E:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dungeons 3\Dungeons3Bin.exe" %command%

If I put in:
E:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dungeons 3\Dungeons3Bin.exe %command%
it wont work, neither will:
"E:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dungeons 3\Dungeons3Bin.exe"%command%

If you can't find the error let me know what you are entering as the launch option and I'll help you find the typo.

you are the only one with this launcher. I have none and never had.
did you maybe change your start options and activated the unity screen selector?

++1. I agree. I hate when developers add launcher to games purchase on steam. This game did it worst because it adds advertise.

I can help there

To bypass Launcher
  • Go to the install location (If you don't know where right click Dungeons 3 in steam, choose properties -> local files-> browse local files)
  • Right click Dungeons3Bin and Create Shortcut
  • Right click the shortcut and select properties

  • Go to the end of the target box and add %command% after a space.
    For example mine reads: "E:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dungeons 3\Dungeons3Bin.exe" %command%
  • Press ctrl+a to select the entire target path then ctrl+c to copy the path

  • In steam right click Dungeons 3 and select properties
  • Under General click the text entry box below Launch options
  • paste the path you copied.
  • Close Properties

Steam will now bypass the launcher

2K had an ad based launcher added to some of their games which uses the qtweb framework to grab web adverts, qtweb has a longrunning bug where the process often fails to close and has a memory leak which can be pretty severe if you don't notice.
In comparison I haven't found any issues with the Kalypso launcher yet so this one is far from the worst.

Or you could just change the name of the Kalypso Launcher inside the games directory while your there to solve the problem. Mine I just changed the .exe to .bck and launching from steam then bypasses the launcher

Any time the game updates or if steam verifies files it will replace the Kalypso Launcher, thats a quicker workaround initially but depending on what Kalypso do could become tedious having to keep going back to remove the launcher.

why a launcher?
what is the point of this the game doesn't need one and it just makes it a hassle to load the game up and if it's to make me want to buy the games on the launcher well you just made me want to never buy them because all those games mean to me now is a speedbump to me playing a game i WANT TO PLAY

Thank you for posting a faster way to launch this game. This is one of my favorite games. It just makes me mad that some games think its ok to advertise other games before or during main menu. I think this is not right.

You have the power to make it change : Add a bad review explaining that this kind of launcher is not acceptable.
If the average rating is bad, the company sells less game, and will try to make better next time.

No problem, the same process works on almost any launcher, the only one I've had to use a different bypass method for was Total war so its worth trying in other games if you need to bypass a launcher
