The problem is that the creatures don't yell loudly enough when they get slapped.
On the other hand, Thalya yells realistically and is super loud when she gets dropped from the Hand of Evil, and yet this forum has tons of complaints about that.
So if they made the creatures yell loud enough from slapping, then they'd get tons of complaints about that too, exactly like they already do with the dropping of Thalya.
The best solution is to make the slapped creatures, and also the drops of Thalya, really loud by default, but also put sliders for each of those specific things in the audio options, so players can reduce their volume or mute them as they see fit.
But I doubt they'll actually do that stuff though.
It's not such a big deal, no need to complain
it's just that I no longer have a giggle when I decide to harass a minion (or the same fun I had back in the days when I wiped chickens in DK)
load of fun in other sections of the game... just lost the "slap effect"
Rather, my point is/was that this board has many complaints (in totally different threads from this one) about how loud Thalya gets.
Therefore, if they fixed the problem noted in the OP, which boils down to that the creatures are too quiet when they are slapped, then it opens the door to the new problem of the creatures then becoming too loud for some players.
My second point is that there is a win/win solution to these issues which would make everyone happy. That is if the devs patch the game with two new audio options with volume sliders specifically dedicated to control the loudness/quietness of a) Thalya being dropped and b) creatures being slapped.
why not... but i dont think my feeling about slap are coming from the sound volume, i just dont feel like I slap them, there is no violence in the move (well... not real "no", more like "not enough for me... are we evil or what?")
right click on them
edit: I cant complain about necromancy in such a game forum ;)
I think it's because of the delay with the hand's movement, sometimes it doesn't even come next to a creature as you slap it while moving your mouse
