Really wanting something like Evil Genius, is this anything like it?

So i've been looking at this game for some time and now that it's on sale i've been thinking about picking it up. However, i'm looking for something a little like Evil Genius where you can watch your minions train and capture heroes. The little things in it were what made that game the best to me. Is this anything like it or should I look elsewhere?

Evil Genius was inspired by the genre this game is in. I don't know if its a perfect fit for you, but its as good as you're going to get. Although I thought another Evil Genius game was in development.

They made a facebook-game evil genius 2 which was a MAJOR disappointment. I heard some rumours of a real evil genius game being developed, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

As someone who has played original Evil genius a lot (If you look at my steam games, thats only part of it, as I owned the original dvd version too), this game is similar enough to give a try, but not quite the same. This game seems to be much more timecritical and is divided into several smaller missions as opposed to one long campaign divided in two like EG. It feels like in each mission you are racing against the clock. I am not fond of that.

Dungeons 3 however feels like it has a lot of potential as it feels considerably more polished than previous dungeons games.

Dungeons 3 is a great dungeon building game.
