Advice on finial mission please
Ok so I’ve beat 19 out of the 20 campaign missions on Hellish.
My strategy has been pretty much the same, quickly take one Isle of Evil, then hunker-down in my Dungeon playing defense, building traps and creating and up-grade my army.
Them swarm the Overworld with a huge high level army of mixed Horde, Undead and Demons.

Minor Spoilers:

However, in the final mission this is not working, around the 40 minute mark, I get swarmed! 2 portals from Valhalla open as well as heroes pouring in from entrances. I can’t hold off 4-6 waves of heroes at once!
I’ve re-loaded at least half a dozen times, but can’t get through it.

How did you guys win this mission?
Thanks for any advice.

Try routing all the entrances to one corridor and just have a line of 6-8 magic crushers with magic spikes, nothing will get through.

Rerouting the entrances is less useful in the last mission because the Valhalla portals can open anywhere in the dungeon. Even so, digging long paths for the heroes gives you more time to deal with them. At 40 minutes you won't have much in the way of traps yet anyway.

There's a trick to dealing the Valhalla portals too. They don't all spawn heroes at once but at intervals of maybe one minute. When the portals spawn, pick up all your creatures and wait a few seconds to see which one spawns the first heroes. Then drop 3-5 creatures at each of the other portals and the rest near the heroes. That should get the portals closed without an excessive amount of heroes.

On hellish difficulty it's important to manage your creatures in the early game. Try not to let anything die, especially horde creatures. If you like horde, getting the naga unlock in the beginning is supremely helpful in boosting survivability and recovery. Also try to get started on spells quickly. The mana shield can be a real lifesaver and the meteor swarm helps a lot by knocking down heroes for a few seconds too.

I don’t usually don’t do a lot of traps, especially not magical ones, but I’ll give it a try, thanks

Good advice here, I’m going to try it.
Thanks for replying

Ugh, lost twice again last night, I had a huge, high level army too. I just get overwhelmed :steamsad:
But I’m off tomorrow, so tonight I’m going to keep playing until I get it. I refuse to lower the difficulty, lol
