Is there a difficulty option for story mode?

can't find one except after losing a fight and i would really rather not have to lose a fight to play a difficulty setting i can actually handle

I mean, you literally need to improve your skill for the fights ahead. The mode was designed for that.

get gut is an internet meme at this point entirely because its not even helpful advice. its like if someone asks "how do you fly a helicopter" and you say "don't suck at flying a helicopter" your not so much helping in the slightest as stating the obvious. it also is not even close to the answer to the question i asked. i asked if there is a difficulty select other than the one after losing a fight i did not ask for advice on how to win and even if i asked that what you said would be completly unhelpful so as i said you didn't say anything even remotely useful.
