Just such an odd experience, not being able to progress and being told to type this into a computer to open a door or whatever..... only nothing happens, typed it in a bunch of times lol... what is this

You have to type it into the proper terminal, not just any computer (assuming you didnt already know that). The game tells you which terminal to look for

This confused me too. The guy tells you that the terminal you have to type the code in is "nearby", and there is a terminal literally 10 meters away from the door but there is no indication that that is the incorrect terminal.

No but i'm playing with a lower resolution so it's hard to read the text on the HUD. I was just going by the info Schaefer gave me. Which clearly conflicts with the info on the HUD.

Have you tried tweaking hud settings? I can agree that it's a bit small atm but I believe you can enlarge them.

The game is extremely vague with the instructions it gives you. That's just bad game design.
There's a difference between not comprehending simple instructions AND not knowing what the game wants from you.
Case and point:I shouldn't have to open up the game wiki to find out how to use ammo pouches.
Nor should I be expected to know to type in RECYCLE_GROUP_7A42 when you're specifically told to use "Recycle Group 7A42".

if there is a special command, the terminal will tell you.
