Reactor missions way too hard?
I really dont want to skip missions and go chronologically , but me and a couple friends have tried to beat it for so long and im starting to consider cheesing it with a mod or something cause no matter the strat or items used we always die only on the last wave

That's the easiest reactor mission in the game. Just defend the bridge, funneling them through the hole in the wall. Bring 2 burst, 1 sniper sentry (or 3 bursts). 1 bio.

Hold there, code guy runs back at 15 sec mark. Put in code on last 10 sec to optimize looting time. that's all there is to it.

If you start cheesing this level you'll be cheesing/cheating the whole game.

try to grab resources towards the beginning of the level, allowing closer resources to be readily available. Optimal tools can make or break a level. Since there are no doors, cfoam and mines are not that useful, so 3 sentries is great for holding out, and a bio tracker is basically always required to every mission, pinging enemies to evaulate how aggressive you should be playing. As for the terminal, you can press up to have a previous command in the text bar, allowing for you to just delete the code word so you dont spend 5-10 seconds typing out the Reactor_Verify

That do be the easiest reactor mission in the game. Some people consider it borderline boring.

What exactly gets you killed? Turrets running out of ammo, the wave of giants?
If former - either you guys are not pulling your weight or you deploy too many sentries to soon, as only 1 is enough for first 3 rounds.
If latter - you need a dedicated giant killer who will focus them, especially the hybrids - spiky gorrilas that shoot ranged barages. Sniper Rifle in particular counters them nicely as a single headshot is all it takes.

HEL Gun and HEL Rifle shine on that level due to excessive penetrating opportunities.

If you think that is bad, wait for R2D2, that reactor mission singlehandedly stopped us from completing Rundown 2 despite over ~50 attempts

So, you have to go and get resources in between waves (and you'll have to do other stuff in later reactors). Everyone on your team needs to understand that, because it's not a 1-2 person job. Reactors are tough I think, because it's rare for everyone to participate correctly. There is going to be the one or two guys who laze about, thinking that just shooting is enough. I know because I've played with these guys. Everyone needs to participate in all tasks.

Anyway, study the map and keep mental note on where things are, so you can sprint back and get them quickly. You do have to run quite far, eventually, but the timer between waves gets longer too. This is in fact the easiest reactor map, and they are very difficult/hectic. I've only beat a few of them.

Reactors are some of the best levels in the game and thats not an opinion just a fact lol
More work went into them than many other levels.

this game is hardcore, you literally need to get better, and it's not a way to be rude or sarcasm, that's how you beat this game. Best way to learn - play alone (with bots). that way you are responsible for your own success, you have to make decisions, figure things out, and adapt your strategy after failure.

this mission is doable even for you with bots and 3-4 sentries and meticulous resource management.
