GTFO keeps crashing in game
Hi,
I'e tried everything that came to my mind but I keep encountering the following issue.
Once I cage drop and play for a while (it can be 30 seconds or 3 minutes), the game suddenly lags and after a few seconds crashes. After that the GTFO Unity Crash window appears for a second or two, and later it disappears.

I'e tried the following:
- .NET Framework update
- Nvidia graphics drivers update
- Nvidia graphic drivers rollback (to August 2023)
- Windows update
- Disabling Microsoft Defender
- Ensuring all overlays are disabled
- Uninstalling GeForce Experience
- Changing all Graphics settings in game to minimum
- Turning off all optional graphics enhancements
- Changing game resolution
- Changing display mode to Windowed
- Reinstalled the game
- Removed 10 Chambers folders in AppData
- Turned Vsync on.
- Turned Vsync off.
- Formatted C://
- Windows Reinstall
- Checked overheating (no issue)

I played GTFO for 2 years or so now. This has never consistently happened before. I managed to play Rundown 8 until B4 where the issue began.
I tested it and the issue occurs on other levels too. It occurs regardless of whether I play alone, with bots or with friends.
I play on vanilla unmoded game.

I'll gladly accept any tips concerning what might be done as right now the only option I see is to wait for another GTFO update and hope for a fix.

Are you having any other issues with other games? Like AAA title games?

Probably worth looking at crash files/logs. You can google the location of the Unity crash report files. It's like in ..AppData\LocalLow\Unity or something like that.

Also, sometimes CPU cooling issues can arise over time and can degrade game performance. Are your CPU temps fine? Might be worth running memtest and some sort of drive diagnostic.

Turn on vsync

VSync was turned on all the time. I tried turning it off and it didn't work unfortunately.

As for the other comment, the same issue started happening also in Lethal Company (which also runs on Unity). I checked the temperature and it's at very acceptable level.

Unity crash logs folder is empty.
10 Chambers crash / log folders are also empty.

I did a fresh OS install today and it didn't solve the issue.

I appreciate all your help.

Could you post computer specs? Are you using English or Polish Windows? What version - 10? 11?).

Is game installed on SSD/HDD? Do you have latest BIOS for motherboard/GPU?

Hi,
ASUS_TUF_Gaming_F15_FX506HM
Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11400H @ 2.70GHz 2.69 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Edition Windows 11 Home (ENG)
Version 22H2
OS build 22621.3007
Graphics: RTX 3060
SSD 1TB, two partitions, game is installed on C:// along with OS. There's over 200GB free space on GTFO disk.

I made no changes to BIOS since I got the laptop.
I guess I could try updating it as nothing else comes to my mind.

Latest BIOS should be "Version 313" - check it

Could you check state of the SSD? Try CrystalDiskInfo (for checking health) and CrystalDiskMark (to benchmark the drive).

Also - try to check integrity of your Windows 11 (right click on Start - Terminal (Admin) or Powershell (Admin) and type: sfc /scannow

One more question - what periphery are you using? (Keyboard, mouse, USB headset, drawing tablet etc...)

And could you try install Asus Armoury Crate and checking option "Legacy DRM Compatibility" (in Armoury Crate and "System Configuration"). This "should" be your fix for the issue (this could be issue with E-cores).

Hi.
I did all you recommended.
My BIOS is actually 315.
CrystalDiskInfo checked - No issues
CrystalDiskMark - All green
Integrity - No issues
Legacy DRM Compatibility - Couldn't find it in Armoury Crate. I fiddled with different battery / efficiency settings but there is no difference.
If that's not responsible for Legacy DRM in Armoury Crate, could you point me in the right direction?

Peripherals - just a wireless Logitech MX Master 3 Mouse

Manbarondenna - I checked both, with VSync turned on and off. Result is the same.

Issue unfortunately reoccurs.

Check please E-CORE settings in bios (you should be able to turn them off via key "scr lk" (Scroll Lock).

Legacy DRM - you should see that in main screen (where CPU usage, GPU usage, CPU stats, GPU stats, Memory and Storage etc. is located) in the right bottom (System Configuration).
