What do later rundowns look like? Are they not boring?
I did the first few missions of the first rundown with friends and I didn't really get what the appeal is. Neither the stealth nor shooting feels rewarding. All the big fights we had were just a check of "did you set up your turrets" and "do you have enough ammo". We eventually just stopped playing because all the missions we played were fairly boring and was just "find the object(s) and go back". Apparently the game is supposed to be hardcore? Does it get better?

Definitely gets more varied and more difficult (at times) during the later rundowns, but as for whether or not it is more interesting is up to you.

The game's "Work together or Die Together" phrase is mainly important after the first few rundowns since you get into the "infection" system, cocoons, more encounters with the fabled "spaghetti man". But in general, its the same game, just more and more demanding with new enemies and stuff in R2+. But yes, it does get better gameplay wise. Lots of the missions are just grab and get out with tons of twists that make the game more fun. But thats the general mission, Grab and Go.
