Black poo eating away my screen

Was playing R2C1 and all of a sudden, black pixels started multiplying and covered a major portion of my entire screen. The map works fine and can view the lobby but is persistent when playing. Restarting the level fixed it but this is annoying when you are almost near the end of the level. Changing graphical settings did nothing.

This never happened before.

Where are those love letters sent? Intet to respons to all DM:s but sometimes I miss stuff. And yes, this is a known and hard to reproduce issue.

I get this issue quite frequently, around every 5th expedition? Sometimes game projects fluid on your helmet (blood, fog, infection, etc.). I think the issue is caused by something like that.

Two days ago it cost us a run since we were in a hectic firefight and one team member could not see anything. Sometimes it takes minutes to clear, which you don't have in a fight :D

over 600 hrs ive got this bug only once in one of the R2 uplink levels, although for me it covered only the right half of my screen, disappeared when i entered next zone

I've never had this issue once so it's so weird hearing it be common for some people.

I was playing earlier this week and a friend got this bug, yesterday it was my turn. I hope it gets fixed.
I remember that in 2019 and 2020 I never had this bug

For those wondering if there is a fix, this is an issue with the liquid overlay system of GTFO (the blood or other liquids going down the visor of the player), and has no actual "fix" besides turning the system off entirely. This can be done by using the mod "The Archive" by author AuriRex on Github. The mod is QOL and does not impact gameplay or contain cheat-like modifications. This bug has existed for a long time and, just like doorbugging, will probably never get a fix.

Had it happen. It goes away after like 60 seconds. It's glitched blood that takes time to dissipate.

I have had this bug several times by now. It can manifest as either complete black goo covering 30-80% of the screen. Nothing can be seen.
Or silvery, reflective goo which usually cover 50%+ of the screen.
Also there's this weird purple mspaint scrawlings all over the screen as well.

And yes, this is the only game I've got a problem like this. Every other game renders just fine. So it's just GTFO.

Only fix is to wait and hope it clears up or rejoin the lobby, hopefully you're playing with friends and not with bots only...

If you are encountering this bug a lot and wish to stop it, you can disable the liquid system which is the source of this issue. This will remove blood and other liquids from the player visor or you can decrease the quality of liquids. This can be done using the mod The Archive[github.com] which is the only solution for this issue as of now until they [never] fix it. The mod contains nothing considered cheats and can fix other bugs including snatcher bug (v0.7./.1).
