Even the story elements you can uncover in the game aren't really in much order, as the log files you find on terminals are themselves scattered around as far as their in-lore dates go.
Thanks! But regarding the gameplay. Have the first rundowns aged poorly compared to future ones? For example I haven't seen a single checkpoint in Rundown 1 yet
You should start on R1 and move from there. It's the easiest and most barebones. More stuff will be introduced as you go through them.
As for difficulty it is not linear at all. from easy to hard: R1 -> R3 -> R6/R2 -> R7 -> R4 -> R5.
Edit: also don't be out there relying on checkpoints as they are irrelevant and even unreliable. They can end your run just by bugging out and the devs have not been able to fix them since december 2021 when they got introduced. R1 -R5 have no checkpoints at all and are better for it.
In comparison to later Rundowns, R5A3 took me 2 and a half hours to complete.
