This is a full blown guide about bots i wrote when they released in r6 (even play tested them a little before release)
https://www.reddit.com/r/GTFO/comments/s2weqe/a_follow_up_of_bots_feedback_and_ideas/
Made a feedback post and everything
But even after that they didn't really touch bots too much since r6 apart from fixing some super annoying bugs (like bots dropping items on the floor when climbing ladders making it borderline unplayable) or giving them an extra feature like bots using lock melters on doors and boxes
Sad to inform you that bots are design to be played with 2 players 2 bots, theyre mostly design to fill in the shoes of the extra two players since most objective can be done by 2 humans,1 player 3 bot experience it honestly misrepresent how the game is and its just a micromanaging fest that will show more apparent their flaws.
They do always say that they're "looking into improve bots" but thats honestly a corporate response and i dont really see changing them too much during this borrowed time they have by release older rundowns but if they do i will praise them for doing it.
Edit: Also when people say you can play this game solo they mean the people who spend quite literally have 1000+ hours soloing levels, true soloing levels mind you, with no bots, there have been people who beat levels with 3 bots but its not encourage since it doesnt really help new people because its the same people with 1000+ hours soloing levels with bots instead of by themselves, so yeah if you struggling i do recommend joining discord and making some friends there
R7 can mechanically not be finished with bots.
The bots lack the AI to deal with R7E1. And that is if you make it to R7E1. The bots don't do scans on R7C2, they are useless in the first part of R7C3. R7D1 clearly is designed for thinking players but can be done it just takes rng with bots. (so your completion completely depends on luck). R7D2 only works if you are 2 bots, 2 players otherwise is not doable with bots.
Ofc I'm talking legit clears, no exploits.
I mean it is known that this game is not meant to be done solo or duo, the devs said themselves you should not be able to. If people want to, be my guest, you'll just never finish it.
Badger you hate pretty much anything at this point :)
Again badger, I always take perspective from the AVERAgE player. And yes they will not do it. R7C2 is bugged as the bots do not do the scans for a lot of people, I did not say it can't be done it just takes more work.
As for R7C3 when at start if the room wakes up it's pretty much gg cause the bots will go on and suicide themselves on the first giant, again this is going off of Average players, not you who are sitting at 4k hours.
I know you are one of the best players out there (cos damn you good) but when you tell new players they can solo this game you are lying to them because you can (Altho R7E1 is with cheese iirc, and I know you did legit first but that was with a TEAM) but they can't.
