And not even a bow would really work, you pop heads off of enemies that still survive and attack, a single arrow through the skull logically wouldn't just stealth kill one either.
Yeah especially in a tight enclosed area, I'd kill for a suppressor on the sniper though... just to get those damned scouts.
Nope, that "bang" you're referring to is from using stand ammunition. You're supposed to use sub-sonic ammo. While it won't be completely silent, it lowers the decebels dramatically.
They also reduce your accuracy by insane levels. Silencers are only useful at close range. Better off just running with a pillow taped to the barrel of your gun.....Now thats a funny image.
Unless you use a cat.
They are blocking a weapon slot but are worse in terms of damage and have limited ammo aswell..
Since the game has fair shares between stealth and action, having an entire weaponslot dedicated to stealth is a hard punishment. Especially because that means, your entire secondary weapon had to be used for the action phases.
In current C1 for example, having a silenced weapon would be a severe disadvantage.
A silenced SMG or Stormrifle, shooting your target into the head would still trigger the target and cause the danger of it alarming others.
Shots that go around the target might accidentially hit others.
And you are still wasting ammo to achieve that advantage of fast cleaning a room.
A melee weapon has no limited use and thus is saving you resources.
There are several ways to balance silenced guns for this game and im still confused how the designers of Payday dont see that since Payday achieved the same.
Alone with the factors: Ammo availability, maximum ammo, damage and the blocking of an entire weapon slot, you can easily balance silenced guns.
Other ideas are to have more variations for what we have. For example a melee weapon that has a different use but does less melee damage. Like lets say a shocker baton.
What about silenced weapons that need special ammo?
As said, there are multiple ways, but choosing a freaking sledge hammer as the go to stealth weapon in your game, does make it look really stupid.
Im sure you can come up with proper ideas.
I mean, you continue to claim that the characters you play are prisoners getting barebones equip, but they cant get a stupid suppressor on their weapon while at the same time having Augmented Visors with digital information systems.
Sounds contradictory.
Compared to what these characters have access to, a suppressor being super special and rare sounds incredibly stupid.
