Problems with brightness
Today I found out that one of my friends with whom I play sees the game much brighter than me. We checked the settings and they are exactly the same for us. The problem cannot be in the monitor, otherwise there would be no difference in the screenshots.

your not both in the same exact spot during these pics right. it is kinda meant to be pich black in most areas forcing you to use your headlamp at the chance of waking up the sleepers.

and u and your friend have exactly the same hardware setup ,exactly same monitor , same brand of every bit of hardware , exactly same software and apps ?if not then there are differences

yes, perhaps from the screenshots this is not entirely obvious. But he can clearly see almost the entire room, while I see only light sources and 1-2 meters in front of me.

How can a monitor affect a game screenshot?
In general, my question is precisely why he sees everything perfectly, while I see almost nothing.

We discussed this with friends and found out that for two of us the game is brighter and better visible, while for the other two we see a couple of meters in front of us.

1.) Bug with certain hardware?
2.) External modifications (for example enhancement software, certain settings in the graphical settings outside the game (see Nvidia control panel or similar), reShade software (or similar), Monitor or other hardware related optimization technologies (for example my older Samsung features a built in sharpening system which was great, maybe theres something related to lighting, saturation or contrast in your hardware setups).

If you can rule out all of that, report it as a bug.

But how should everything look like in the end? Everything should be dark, like mine or more or less light, like my friend?

Thats mission B2 is that correct? Looks like the area with the two gates in the second zone.
If so, then your friends lighting is the correct one. That area is brighter.
If its a different mission i have to check back.

Another easy way to check: If your friend and you play Mission C1 and your friends rooms are brighter than yours, then his is false, because that mission is pitchblack.

Yes, you are right, this is B2. Thanks for the answer. I'll try to dig into the settings.

Hope you find it. I am betting for a bug or issue on the lighting for you. Obviously i cant say what causes it, but i cant think of any setting or so causing certain level lightsources to not work.
Thats just too specific.

Looks like your light sources are bugged because the darkest areas on all the screenshots look the same.
