GTFO

Ok lets talk about fog shall we? [spoiler]
Why? Did the devs just decide hey this rundown lets add 50% more fog. Great game fantastic design beautiful visuals. Lets muck it all up with fog. I'm not talking about the poison fog. Oh no that would at least give the players fog rappelers or hell even a turbine. No this fog actually makes it where we can't finish b-2 because of a class 3 sec door. It turns an already difficult task more difficult. Its not because of poor skill no the fog on b-2 is just kind of poor map design. what is everyones thoughts on the fog. Maybe advice just incase we did miss something. Just incase maybe we are just bad.

Putting cells into the generator will lower the fog. The cells in the lower area will clear the upper area of fog.

The fog is the gimmick of the A1 level, and there are ways to clear it up

not really. there is maybe like 1 section that has like a little bit of fog that kind of blocks your vision but not anything like what we were dealing wit in B-2. Absolute 0 vision on anything. Couldnt see what we were walking into couldnt tell when the sleepers were having a fit noting. other than the lights and the few spot we could get below or above the fog it was total white screen. someone here did give a solution so maybe next run will be different, but we might just skip B-1 and B-2 since we finished the extreme on A-1

Do 88 and 89 first, hold onto the cells. After 86 is opened, put both cells in. Find the third cell and put it in to clear the fog from all of 86 and 87. Then, it's just a matter of getting the last cell.

You can make your life easier by doing the 86 alarm first thing, as this will lower the number of entrances they have.

The only time the fog is actually an issue is if you're planning to do the overload, in which case you shouldn't put any cells in and just deal with the higher elevations of 86 in full fog. It's meant to be hard, shouldn't be a surprise if the overload makes you deal with the thick fog.

Me and my friends decided to do the upper door first since it was a security alarm door and did that area in the fog and got 2 of the batteries and decided to put them in the generator because why not and well who would have thought the fog would lower? Like did the generator put on the AC and cool the fog down so it hits the floor? We expected the fans to turn on to reduce some of the fog or after all 4 batteries the fog would disappear but instead just made the rest of the level harder and after failing at about 3/4 through we decided to do the lower door first and the fog was never a problem. I get it the fog is aids but during that mission it basically treats it as "You have to do lower level first then upper" and that's all it really is, After doing it the way it was intended we beat it rather easily or atleast easier then doing it the other way.Think of it as in other games were you have to drain out the water levels to access more of the map and progress but in reverse.

I like it. More environmental hazards and dynamic atmospheric effects to change up how you approach things is a lot of fun.

It's a love hate for me. Hate being in it but I love the way it looks and effects you.

normal fog is nice, its making some nice atmosphere of fear (if the room full of monsters). Poison fog instead is super stupid, you are constantly under time pressure to get out of there.

Wanted to start my own topic after I ran into fog right in the 3rd damn level (B1). I really hate this mechanic. Like, who even finds it fun? Like, not casual fun but as challenge to tackle. You just creep through the fog, hoping not to agitate any mobs while getting spit on and so on. You barely see anything yet you must constantly point your flashlight in various directions but also make sure it doesn't trigger mobs. Also, if you actually do trigger them, you are essentially sitting ducks with one player out of the game because he/she holds that turbine thing. That's just boring and irritating. It's like second thing which makes this game so off-putting (after lack of proper MM). Have devs ran out of fresh ideas so they just stick to unpopular game designs?

It does feel like the developers are running out of tricks. They are literally throwing reverse fog as a super duper quirky level addition like.. what.
