Question about sleepers
Greetings, absolutely brand new to the game and had a question. Aside from the game's performance which is way more stable now than it was half a year ago, what in the world do you do with sleepers? Your guy says to watch out for sleepers. So I get down and slowly crouch away from them trying to get past them. yeah, nope. They instantly wake up and start chasing you and shooting tracking goo balls at you. I'm repeatedly told NOT TO WAKE THEM. But stealth seems to useless against them. I'm not an idiot and I do have my flashlight turned off.

Is this because of my loadout choices? I'm too heavy and making noises? Or am I just supposed to ignore what I'm told repeatedly and just quickly kill them all. I'm using the tracking device which is pretty awesome to have so it's not like I'm accidently walking into an enemy in the dark. I'm currently playing solo in the first level so I get a better sense of the game.

Thank you

Despite that, the game's atmosphere makes me want to ♥♥♥♥ my pants in fear. I can't imagine if the game was made into a horror house.

you can only sneak past them, if they are not glowing.

You can also melee them one at a time as long you go slow and they aren't right on top of each other.

Sleeper progression states:
- sleeping: silent
- glowing: lit up, accompanied by croaking
- beating: glowing with a heavy heartbeat
- alerted: short phase where they turn red
- awake: glow is gone and they are pursuing/attacking you

Recommended action during these states:
- sleeping: move while crouched to prevent them triggering to a glowing state, walking is okay but you will force the glowing state if you get too close (~15ft)
- glowing: moving while crouching will trigger beating; walking will do this faster
- beating: don't move. In this sensitive state, any movement is too risky and will alert them.
- alerted: try to kill them . At the end of this state (~3s), they yell and alert the rest of the room.
- awake: kill or back out of the room because the rest of it will be waking up.

Generally, try to never sprint. Even if you only tap shift for a second, that will instantly wake nearby enemies. Keep this in mind during the alerted state and walk instead.

Standing/crouching in place will force glowing within ~15ft or so.

If you kill a sleeper, others within ~10ft radius will be alerted.
If you kill a sleeper, others ALREADY glowing outside of ~10ft and IN line of sight to the one you're about to kill have a chance of being alerted. For this reason, best practice is to wait until all nearby enemies aren't glowing at all.

Hopefully that helps.

FifthHorsemaN has great info above. OP, watch this - you can kill sleepers without alerting other ones as long as they aren't in line of sight! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtKjdN8B9nc
