I dont really think a MM without a rank system would help much. After all we are talking about a really hardcore game that requires team work all the time. Something that i rarely even saw in games like CS GO fexe.
Basically. Getting a match making service would make it easier to get into the game, but making a service that doesn't saddle you with bad team mates would be challenging.
In the mean time, Steam has tools for making groups. It would be wise for players to network, reach out to friends, friends of friends, other players on forums, and putting together groups of good team mates and forming clans.
Ashley (probably a Community Manager) said that they will not release the game in EA at this moment with Matchmaking.
She was kindly to answer this question.
In other hand, so sorry, 10 Chambers. It's a shame that you don't put the matchmaking as priority.
It will lead your game to fail, if you don't release the matchmaking less than one month.
So, It's a developer choice.
No matchmaking. No purchase about 90% of people.
Your obligating people to buy 4 game copies to play together without any reason.
I really want to understand, what did pass in project manager brain deciding to ignore this important stuff.
If i'm the project manager, I put the matchmaking on HIGH PRIORITY.
Btw, advices are just accepted by people that can understand how their game works.
Unfortunatelly, I'm not the project manager. So, I just have a chance to skip this game after this weird reply.
I don't know how they distribute responsibility in 10CC, but I am not sure there is a Project Manager. Might be more like a bunch of people sitting a room talking it out. You do know it's a small team of 9 people, right? This whole game is made by 9 people.
If I'm paying to play a multiplayer game, It's my right to play with matchmaking.
It's quite simple. Start to play, queue started, me and 3 people accept the game (same country or region) and the game starts.
Remembering that's a P2P game.
So, no... Just stop to defend an undefensable missing stuff.
*shrug* I don't want to waste my time playing with 3 randos that do not know what they are doing and fail hour after hour, that's why I only play with friends who know how to play.
But yeah, some sort of match making would be helpful. But I would like to know that the people I am playing with are good teammates. I hope they make something that lets me connect to good teammates, but I am not sure how to do that.
Players should be able to do both. Network with others, and matchmake with randoms. If you don't want to use matchmaking, then don't. You aren't going to be forced to.
A third party program shouldn't be a requirement to play the game. People in discord can be just as bad as randoms anyways.
If you want voice chat, then a third party program will be required now, and for a while at least. Game doesn't have it native, and it might not be required, but it's hard with out it. I am not sure if/when they will make a voice chat option in game. Discord fills the role better than many in game voice chats anyway. For 9 people, it might make more sense to devote your time to the game rather than a voice chat.
Match making might be true as well, though I think a good match making protocol would be more useful. Though, again, I would prefer something that assured I was getting good team mates.
It's not clear that the game doesn't have matchmaking at this moment.
They're getting a wrong path ignoring this CORE stuff about ANY PVE GAME.
Completly agree!
