3 player?
or 4 player only? Will it I have to PUG a random guy for GTFO or would I be able to just 3 player it with my 2 friends?

Anything less than 3 players is practically suicide and anything less than 4 will be extremely difficult on anything other than the first mission. The game is balanced entirely around being difficult for a coordinated group of 4.

1-2 people is theoretically possible but don't count on it.
