Maybe a slider for adjusting said muzzle flash brightness intensity?

I hope there will be a setting to make it not that bright or disable at all. It is too bright for playing in dark environments.

The bloom effect is quite intense, it looks like a substitute for full blown volumetric lightning, perhaps for performance considerations. I also noticed that not much shadows are casted by light sources. The bloom also seems to be part of the level desing, blinding the player in some occasions and giving life to the overall art direction.

This is the second game I see that make such a heavy use of the bloom effect. Hopefully this does not turn into another Syndicate, who has violated our eyesight with sand as lube.

"Please devs lower the lighting for this one random guy". No thank you.

It's legitimate criticism, and we'll try to make it so that you can adjust the intensity of the muzzle flashes in the game. That being said, no one who has played the game (at E3 or Gamescom) has complained about the muzzle flahses - which makes me believe that if you are the one who squeezes the trigger, you won't be that sensitive to the flashing lights.

Huge muzzle flash ofc looks cinematic and all. But I think players don't like it for gameplay. Looking at Killing Floor 2, the muzzle flash there is tiny. On the other hand Space Hulk: Deathwing has a huge muzzle flash and among other negatives players complained about it.
I pointed to those two games because they have somewhat similar to GTFO's dark levels.

Asking for Lowering the muzzle lightning sounds very selfish,
Insread, try to ask them for implementing an option.

Usually disabling bloom helps. But I agree. Lighting effects should only add to gameplay and atmosphere, but not to the point of having a seizure.

So you're getting this from a video, rather than actually playing it yourself? It may actually be different when you're playing.

Spacehulk Deathwing had the same problem, where muzzle flash was too intense and players had hard time identifying what they are shooting at.
