came here to ask the same question. pls dont be diesel

Don't think Diesel is capable of such lighting and animations. I think it's Unity or UE4. I bet Unity.

You could eventually search the info about which engine they wanted to use for Project Warden (?) or whatever it was called before. I'm pretty sure the engine was mentioned and that it was Unity.

Unreal 4 is not capable to be used to make games yet

More like Unreal 3.5

Didn't it literally said Unreal Engine 4 in the teaser?
EDIT: Eh, apparently got it confused with another trailer. So many ones shown.

Hopefully they wont pull a Colonial Marines.

It’s unity. I recognize the engine

Me too, man. Honestly when the trailer said Payday 2 I groaned. I thought it was gonna be an Overkill game. Glad it's not, but I sincerely hope that whoever's in the studio from Overkill took some lessons from the mess that was Payday 2. I'm interested in the game, but also severely cautious.

One has to diferentiate between Overkill prior and after being acquired by Starbreeze. That's where most of the mess stems from. There are at least 2 key figures present for this project from the old Grin (bionic commando/rearmed) / original Overkill (payday1) etc. I'm not hyped, but I do believe in them.

About the engine, I don't think it's unity. It looks more like unreal 4 to me or something custom even.

From the EULA of the game:

Third Party Software. The Game uses certain third-party software, which may not be extracted from the Game for any purpose, including software licensed by Unity Technologies ApS (“Unity”)...

And I'm pretty sure they said it, that theyr gonna be using Unity, in some livestream/tweet months ago

Nooooo, my interest dropped rapidly after witnessing that they are indeed using unity3d. Thanks, I guess.

At least it isn't UE4. Unity games run smooth on most PC
