Please note that the game officially supports only Oculus Rift and HTC Vive VR headsets.
Also please take into account these advices if you use VR with City Car Driving:
- Update your VR headset software & drivers.
- Update your video card driver to the latest version.
- Make sure you connect your VR headset before(!) starting the game.
- Do not launch/use SteamVR. If SteamVR is already running – close it before launching the game. Then just run the game in a usual way and select the VR output in the in-game settings menu.
- VR activates only after the driving session start (it does not work in the main menu).
- If you feel you still need to make lower motion sickness effects you can try disabling some of the camera inertion effects as described here - https://steamcommunity.com/app/493490/discussions/0/3277925755433585773/
P.S.: Vive Pro and Rift S should work.
Regarding any other VR devices - for now we do not have these headsets by our hands, and do not have plans to supported them in near future. Sorry.
HTC Vive and Oculus Rift are 5 years old, it's ridiculous that those are the only two officially supported headsets. Looks like they just gave up on developing the game.
P.S.: Unfortunately, VR is rather unpopular. So, it does not have the highest priority in our development plans. Sorry.
Well how about now the game is unplayable it crashes then switches back to monitor which is fine whatever your team just didn't make a great vr port due to it not being popular whatever but I cant play the normal game anymore even when it doesn't crash it stutters no matter what setting I use then after a few minutes im assuming there's a memory leak since it crashes im using a r5 3600 oc and 3060ti 32gb ddr4 ram 2tb m.2 bought the game for vr realized its very undeveloped and cant even play without vr played to long to get a refund please update me
For as long as I've owned and played CCD, I've never seen it crash. All except maybe 5-10 hours of my playtime are from VR, and around 2-3 hours with a Rift CV1. The rest is with a Quest 2.
I don't understand how the VR support isn't more popular; that's the only reason I bought this game, and the only way I can play it.
ATS seems to be the same way with limited VR development, but also the only reason I bought and play it. It just makes sense for most simulators to have proper VR support.
It never had any issue until I tried vr then it crashed and when I am able to get it to open without crashing it stutters then crashes I was getting 144+ fps after giving up on vr its hard Stuck around 20-40 fps and stutters so bad then crashes
