- Update your video card driver to the latest version from the nVidia website.
- Update your VR headset drivers\software to the latest version.
- Make sure you connect your VR headset before(!) starting the game.
- Do not need to run the game through your VR software or through the Steam VR launch option – just run the game as usual, and then select the VR in the game settings.
Another problem came up though, the blinkers go crazy after a while. You can't turn them off, and they keep blinking on both directions unless you click the emergency blinkers, but that doesn't remove the problem, since the next time you press em they keep doing the same thing. I've only had this happen in VR.
I have an oculus quest 2. I can connect it to my pc I can open and play steam vr games and also in oculus itself but when I open city car driving and then select vr glasses the game has to restart when I do this it says my vr glasses that want to start a game that follows the commands of my pc, but then the game closes itself when I turn off my vr and turn the game on again, the game says vr initalization failed. How do I solve it.
Please note that the game officially supports only Oculus Rift and HTC Vive VR headsets. Vive Pro and Rift S should work.
Regarding the Index, Quest, Cosmos or any WMR-compatible devices - for now we do not have these headsets by our hands, and do not have plans to supported them in near future. Sorry.
Also please take into account these advices if you use VR with City Car Driving:
- Update your VR headset software & drivers.
- Update your video card driver to the latest version.
- Make sure you connect your VR headset before(!) starting the game.
- Do not launch/use SteamVR. If SteamVR is already running – close it before launching the game. Then just run the game in a usual way and select the VR output in the in-game settings menu.
- VR activates only after the driving session start (it does not work in the main menu).
- If you feel you still need to make lower motion sickness effects you can try disabling some of the camera inertion effects as described here - https://steamcommunity.com/app/493490/discussions/0/3277925755433585773/
I can use VR now. but when I was trying to move my head direction, the motion is shaky. I already set effect to false according the instruction from https://steamcommunity.com/app/493490/discussions/0/3277925755433585773/ , but nothing help. do you have any idea that could cause this issue that I can check it.
My gear : HTC Vive
Thank you
Hello. Quite often perfomance problems may be result of the game configuration files overflow and sometimes – third-party mods also may ruin the performance too.
Therefore, first of all try these steps:
1. Unsubscribe from all mods.
2. Uninstall the game in Steam.
3. Manually delete the folder, where the game has been installed (it will remain after uninstallation) – …\Steam\SteamApps\common\City Car Driving
4. Turn off the Steam cloud profile synchronization for City Car Driving – open your Steam client, click on City Car Driving with right mouse button and choose “Properties” from the context menu. Then open the tab “Updates” and there turn off the option “Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for City Car Driving”.
5. Delete the folder "Forward Development" from your "My Documents" folder.
6. Install the game again.
7. After all above turn off Vertical Sync in both places - the game settings and your video card settings.
thanks for the reply, I will try it tonight
Thanks , the point 7 works. After I turned of Veritcal Sync, the moving shakiness is gone. Thank you!
