Restaurant Expansion

Do I built a restaurant and in the panel it says add an expansion. So I select that and all I get is a highlighting tool with no way to add anything, what am I missing? I have searched and searched and some others have asked this question without ever getting and answer.

There are two boxes in the Shops> Custom> Restaurant selection you can chose from. The entrance box and the expansion box. You need to add some expansion boxes.

Further to TheQuixote`s answer, you will then need to `connect` the expansions to the entrance (max 10), that is the highlighting tool. You can then change the food/drink served by clicking on the entrance.
