Of course there is, it's like one of the main mechanics of the game :) While playing, just select "custom" from the coaster menu, choose a coaster type and have fun! But i suggest you to watch a tutorial on youtube first ... it may be complex the first time

the custom builds are lots of fun. the one thing I would recommend is about every 25% of build test your coaster. then you can make track adjustments as needed. you don't want to invest hours and hours into building a coaster that the guests won't ride.

It's crazy the amount of times I have done that and then the coaster can't make it round the first bend... :( I never learn.

Take a look at Youtube, but I must say, I never found an actual beginners tutorial on the process there - just content creators whose "tutorials" make assumptions that you already understand the basics. It was very frustrating. But I guess it does help to see them doing something in the coaster construction process.

I'd recommend opening a new sandbox to create your first coasters, until you learn how it is done. That way your system won't be bogged down by the other rides & guests, you won't mess up your park in progress, and you have plenty of space to just focus on perfecting your coaster. Then you can save it as a blueprint and bring it into your other park(s).

Be sure to run the test mode while you're creating it, so you'll know when a train gets smoked by an impossible twist or turn. (That way you won't have to back up too far if you need to fix something while laying track). And look up "smoothing" techniques on YouTube.

Lastly, for good practice I recommend this: After you have a working coaster saved, try removing a chunk of it and replacing that space with a totally different track layout. That will help you get used to what is possible with that type of coaster, and how to align beginning and end points smoothly.

I'd also recommend looking for a coaster similar to what you're trying to build in the Steam Workshop, subscribing to it, and setting it up in your Sandbox so you have an example of what you're going for.
