You get development on this game has stopped right?....
That was your choice, wasn't it? Don't force the rest of us into your choices.
Just think of all the other high-powered games you'll be able to play, that will forever remain out of reach for the rest of us. You can put that super-powered rig to good use.
I mean, heck, not a month goes by that we don't get two or three people whining about how expensive the game is, even when it's on sale. If somebody hasn't got the liquid assets for the game in the first place, where d'you suppose they're going to get the finances for the rig?
Honestly, that's the real answer to the question. When will it get DirectX12? Never.
This is an older game at this point .. initial release was 2016 and as someone else commented im pretty sure development has stopped at this point .. Planet Zoo was their latest project and now there are very light rumblings of a planet coaster 2.
computer tech has come a long way since the game released it might not be as simple as an update // it could be engine restrictions or something requiring a complete game rebuild.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The REAL question is PlanCO 2 when ? ( a man can dream right )
As someone who just spent $2000 to build a new PC, imagine spending $1500+ more than I did and making THIS game - a discontinued 6-year-old game that is entirely single-core limited - your hill to die on, lol.
Though as an aside, I like that my Ryzen 7 7700 / Radeon RX 7900XT combo finally makes bigger parks like Koali Beach playable at a decent 30fps with max settings.
It's almost like you think this is the only game that hasn't received a sequel, with no news of a sequel, that's still very active, that I'm complaining about this kind of thing on.
Thanks captain obvious, I had no idea, do you get that the problem is that development has stopped and we have no word of a Planet Coaster 2 despite this glaring issue?
None of this is a helpful reply and the first bit isn't even relevant, it's no matter to me if people are running 8 year+ old hardware, while sitting on their asses screaming "PC master race" to the high heavens like a bunch of clowns. The amount of times I hear PC gamers say consoles are the reason for games being held back and here you're confirming what everyone with a brain says, people on PC are holding it back because of people who expect to still be using the same hardware 8+years later... This isn't how gaming works nowadays, you can't just expect to keep running games on hardware that's that many years out of date, regardless of how much you spent on it when it was current.
If it wasn't still active, or had a sequel, or a sequel announced, it'd make sense to discontinue development, but they abandoned it for stupid Planet Zoo while the engine is a pile of trash lmao.
That's the problem, development was stopped while the game was still active, with no sequel, no sequel announced, and basically still broken. If we actually had an official confirmation of a PlanCo 2, the lack of continued development in favour of a stupid Zoo tycoon game wouldn't be such a punch in the gut
It wasn't intended to be helpful, it was intended to be explanatory. You've got the money to keep your equipment up-to-date. Congratulations. Seriously, no sarcasm, I'm always happy to hear about people who have financial freedom. Others don't. Simple as that.
Oh well. Frontier has made their business decision based on their business situation. Your ability to purchase the latest and greatest gaming gear every six months has no bearing or influence on their decision.
And that's the explanation. Like it or not, Frontier has decided to abandon this game. You can spend a million pounds on your rig, it won't make the slightest difference.
"Your ability to purchase the latest and greatest gaming gear every six months"
Gee, you're real ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ presumptuous aren't you, getting a bit fed up of your know it all attitude when you're actually clueless. This is my first upgrade in over 10 years, guess what though? I didn't sit around being a whiny baby complaining that I can't play games my system SHOULDN'T be able to handle, unlike most modern PC gamers >.>
Because ♥♥♥♥ the people with the money to buy the games and the DLC I guess.
Planet Coaster was meant to be a spiritual successor to RCT after the failure that was RCT World, even including some of the RCT developers, it was aimed at long time RCT fans. It doesn't even have that much DLC when you compare it to other games.
