In response to the OP's question, one thing people keep glossing over is that out of the box the SteamDeck is a Linux machine. Planet Coaster doesn't have a Linux port. To even get the game running, you'll need to either switch the device over to Windows (expensive but easy) or install WINE (free but a bit tricky for those not familiar with the Linux command line). Or possibly switch to ReactOS x64 which is free AND easy, but do that at your own risk, it's still an early alpha.

Steam OS can run a lot of Windows games natively, including Planet Coaster.
And there's nothing to mess with, as long as you got the game from Steam, everything is pre-configure.

Planet Coaster and other Frontier Development games run pretty well on Steam Deck, the fact you have the trackpads for the mouse movement is great. Nerro is right, the games just run, no hassle.

Runs great on deck. My park is a Challenge mode with about 65-70% coverage and tons of shops, vending and of course, rides. 5,000 guests are happy that I tried this on my portable.

Text is very small, there is a fix, go into options, graphics and change the text display size to 160% and graphics to medium. You can dock it to a 4K TV/monitor and pc controls as well.

No slowdowns at all, in fact, it loads snappier from the Deck m.2 SSD than my i7 PC with 64GB RAM!

I haven't built anything yet, but you can map special keys and key combinations to at least six unused buttons on the deck. Should make tedious events a bit easier like path add/delete and 360 degree object movement.

It's 2023 and if you don't have a Steam Deck, you owe it to yourself to try a friend's out. It truly has blown my expectations away since I got mine last Summer.

Anyone else have feedback regarding Steam Deck performance? Which model of the Steam Deck are you using? I'm thinking of picking up a deck for my boys and this is their main game so I just want to be sure I'm not making a mistake. Thanks.
