There are a number of issues that can't even be fixed by "playing correctly". I guess I'll find out if the Staff Management building is even useful for anything.
One of the most glaring is that horrendous Clown Bathroom that I am forced to deal with. It's fine in an old school park, but in nearly EVERY park I'm stuck with this horrid mess. Can't someone design a decent bathroom that isn't this thing?
There's lots of info on making the most of the game, from optimizations strategies to flat ride sequence guides, but most of us will be reluctant to post potential spoilers at newer players who've indicated preferences against them, like “the raw mystery that makes theme parks interesting”.
If you don't mind spoilers and would like specific help, we could use some more info: what you're playing on (Windows, Mac, console [if so, which one] ), if you're playing a Career Scenario (if so, which one), Challenge mode (if so, what biome, and on Easy, Medium, Hard, or Harder), Sandbox, the Scenario Editor, or a Custom Scenario in regular play.
RCT3 was better in a few ways. One of them being it had zoo and water park expansions as a part of it. It also worked very well for being an old game. I've created some crazy coasters designs because of what you could do with the coaster tracks. Some of them can't be done in PC.
I remember having issues where guests would get stuck under stairs or just stand around waiting for their group members to rejoin if I wanted to close the park and I'd have to manually bring them together. So yea PC has its issues, and it can't be played like RCT3. You have to take the time to decorate your queues and the rides too.
If anything PC lacks content and needs more expansion packs, or at least the ability to create mods like you could in RCT3. Perhaps you can and I just don't remember. I've seen a lot of awesome parks made in PC, so it can't be all bad.
Stop complaining here and just go play RCT3 and the original 2 RCTs. It just so happens they are all available on Steam for modern computers, so you don't even need to use an antique Windows 98 system to play them.
You'll be happy and we'll be happy, win-win.
What a stupid and pointless review. I have over 4000 hrs on this game and still enjoy playing some 5 plus years later. Sure it takes some time to understand how everything works and to get the flow of the game. But wow...... you didn't even try to get a hang of it. As another comment pointed out, your "reviews" just make you a negative Nelly who is just complaining. Go find a game that makes you happy and allow the rest of us to enjoy a great game.
Also ps… your workers are quiting because you are giving promotions with no raise or not enough of a raise
back to the op 1st, I think this game appears really easy... I literally just bought this during the lunar sale about 5 ago, and started my 1st "challenge" mode... appeared difficult at first, but it's not bad at all... my very 1st try at the game, and 1 game year in on normal mode and I'm making almost $2/mo and have something like 500? people visiting my park everyday... I'm sure, I'll get better, but that wasn't that bad at all...
That said... some issues... and I'm sure I'll work around / get through them, but...
1 - mouse camera controls seem wonky... and heavily reliant on the 3rd wheel control button... I don't know if any of other game I have with similar mouse controls...
2 - building anything seems slightly tricky / not very self-explanatory... even down to pathing and ride placement... I mean, I "got" it, but it's not super friendly... I especially have a hard time just creating basic structures, like a little ATM kiosk or something... that should take me like 5 seconds, and instead I struggle with it for like 10 mins...
3 - downloading stuff from the workshop isn't the greatest either... while there is a TON of great content up there, it's kind of hard to search for anything specific, instead of wading through a million uploaded things and then picking them out 1 at a time... it would also be nice to see more collections, instead of 1 offs... like a pack of 8 or 10 generic Sci-Fi buildings or Fantasy buildings or something that you can DL in 1 shot... I'm sure people have made them... they are just buried...
4 - some things in the Park Management folder seem like they can be organized / streamlined better... but to be fair, I haven't really done a deep dive into that yet, so maybe I just haven't seen some functionality that I'm look for will hold off saying more...
Anyway... nothing in my experience has come even close to the crazy rant this guy is going on about... If anything, the game seems like could make it a little harder... My 11 year old doesn't seem to be having much trouble playing it either... lol... ( and it's fun to find games we both kinda enjoy )...
And, I'm sure with each new park I build, I'll just get faster at dealing with some of my hiccups... also... lots of great tutorials out there on YouTube andwhat, so keep up the good content... :)
Happy Gaming
Hoppy...
