can't build coaster in sandbox mode. terrain error message.
I'm trying to build a coaster and I keep getting a terrain error message. I believe it says intersecting terrain. My land is completely flat, and I'm not trying to build the coaster over another coaster or anything like that. What gives? how do I figure this out? Thanks so much! -Mike

Ok pretty sure your placing a blueprint, if so please try to raise the blueprint from the ground, if you're stilling having problem then yeah there is clearly something wrong but, normally when someone reports this problem they don't try to raise it what normally gets rid of the problem so be sure to try that if you haven't.

How do you raise a blueprint? Or do you mean raise the ground?

To raise a blueprint you have two ways you can hold shift and drag the mouse either up or down while still holding the left shift just let go of shift when your happy with it and if you ever want the object to snap back to the ground just tapping the left shift would bring it back to surface level. Or you could also use the X button to open the advance move tools with the X Y Z arrows to click and move them about to your likeing.

Oh and one thing i forgot to say if this is a workshop blueprint and not the default in game preset ones then going to settings and then game tab and turning disable scenery collision and the coaster one as well. Why? Cause it can be very handy not just for blueprints but also for building your own stuff. Some people make these hide me signs or put things quite low in the ground for they blueprints and this can stop you from well placing it at the right height the maker of it intended, so by having them set to on there be no problems with any workshop items.

It may also help to go into your settings and in the Game tab you can disable terrain collision, ride collision and scenery collision. This will add a lot freedom when placing items and rides.

thank you all so much! I was able to finally build one of the coasters I couldn't build before! I will change those settings shortly!
