I am guessing vending machines aren't used very frequently by the community. I just came across my Chief Beef vending machine and it now has 14 guests that have used it. I even checked a few of them, they say it is great, that they enjoyed it. I have the defaults set, which is around 4 dollars a...snack(?). Yet, the vending machine shows no profit, zero, ziltch, nada. The vending machine is not broken, in the sense that it is non-functional. Clearly people are using it, they even get the retrieval animation, where they bend down to get their item.

I think I can call this one. It is bugged. I checked for similar posts on this and could not find any using the search term "chief beef vending machine", and got mostly posts talking about using the stores as vending machines, from back in 2018 and 2019.

This is a feature in a game that is behaving unexpectedly, the definition of a bug. And this exists this way in a game I paid for. Not a good look. Is there a way to report this, and more importantly, if reported, will it be fixed? Or get any attention at all?

I agree. Vending machines either seem to be totally unpopular and a waste of time or very popular without making any money. Oversight? Bug? Who knows. I doubt anything will change though, the game is ageing now. I think we'r more likely to see a sequel than an update for the original.

It is not that they don't make money, it is that the food vending machine CAN'T make money, they are broken, bugged, not behaving as clearly intended.

Yeah, except they are scamming backwards. The people are getting the food, but the machine is not registering payment. Wait, hold on, I have said all this already.

Yeah, I’m not bothered much as mostly I am in sandbox, but it is clear when they added them they didn’t tune them to all the various data collections and scenarios. Makes it hard to use them to good effect in career or challenge mode.
