What I do is create a second station and keep it closed. That way you don't have people standing in line at the 2nd station when that line never moves. I just hope this problem really is fixed. I will have to check it out a little later. As of now any transport ride I put down guests treat them as a ride not to transport themselves to another part of the park.
I am sure this issue was a problem forever ago, like over a year and a bit, and it was fixed. Are you sure you are running the latest updated version.
Is that before this week's update or after?
So far I have not had that problem. I will frequently make long lake or river cruises with pleny of things to see connected along the way (hippos, sharks, animated animals from Thememaker's Toolkit, etc.) set to activate when the boat passes by. Then I am able to open (with that one station and looping track) and set the prices high. I usually get a long line of people for quite some time until the ride ages a lot. But even then if I adjust the price I can usually keep making quite a bit of money.
Hopefully this condition did not get "fixed" when they made the changes to get passengers to exit at the different stations.
