deluxe edition

I've just seen that they released a deluxe edition (if they didn't before [I'm not really up to date]) and I already own the main game. but now in this sale I would really like to buy this edition to get all the dlc it provides. But I cant :(. Is there an another way to do this or do I have to pay more for all the dlc's then the deluxe edition. and btw if there would be a way to buy the deluxe edition could i gift the main game ? :P

The DLC should be discounted and available separately as well. Check this page;

The base game is currently 60% off.
Most DLC are currently 15% off.

Delexe Editions is the same game with all 5 DLC packs included. It says if you purchase this rather than individually you will save $18.60. But at the moment every thing appears to be on sale. So you can probably save that much just by addding on the DLC packs to what you already have. No reason to buy the full game again.

Unfortunately you can't and it's really upsetting. If you take the Euro prices for example:
Base game plus 5 DLCs (the deluxe bundle) is 45.73€.
Those 5 DLCs alone (which you have to buy if you already own the game) on sale are 48.35€.

Not only don't you get the base game basically for free, which would be ok, you actually have to pay more. And Steam doesn't let you buy the deluxe bundle and just take out the base game either.

They should be set up as Bundles instead of packages,this is not friendly to people who already own the basic game.

Where else can you buy something and go back and get a lower sales price later we’ll after you bought it? This is how everything works. Things cost the most when they’re brand new. A couple of years later they get bundled into package deals. If you don’t want to pay premium then just wait for a sale price later.

if i understand it correctly:

1. i can either buy the base game for 15€ now

2. or i can buy the deluxe edition which infact is nearly a complete edition with all dlcs (except the 3 small unimportant ones)

...

if i buy the base game now i can't get the deluxe bundle cheaper, as in 45€-15€=30€ ?? which basically means if i want everything i'll have to buy the deluxe pack now or later on pay 15-20€ more for the same ♥♥♥♥ ??

that would be immensly disappointing..

On the other hand, why not reward first day consumers with higher % advantages as a gift for supporting the devs and their ongoing programming of the game from day 1???

Seconding this. I was really disappointed to see that existing owners of Planet Coaster cannot buy the Deluxe Edition, we can only buy the DLC individually. It doesn't make any sense why this benefit is being offered to new players only. Most other bundles on Steam will give you a discount for the items you already own in the bundle. Moreover, buying the DLC separately without the base game is MORE expensive ($48.35) then new players buying the Deluxe edition which includes the base game ($47.74).

The devs have the right to price their own product as they see fit, but this sales tactic seems unbalanced and unkind to existing owners. I'll personally skip the DLC until Frontier hopefully addresses the oversight.

100% this, I don't understand why there are devs who continue to punish their early customers who put fate in their product by getting the bundle settings wrong. You should always have the option to buy just the parts you're missing of the deluxe edition, if you want any more of my money change the settings.

I'm a new buyer of this game and made the mistake of purchasing the base game on sale to get a feel for the game instead of purchasing the bundle (Also on sale) and having mass amounts of DLC items distracting me.

30hrs later

HUGE MISTAKE.

I now had the base game and COULD NOT purchase the bundle at any sort of discounted price. When I tried to purchase it only gave me an option of giving it as a gift. I could and CANNOT purchase the discounted DLC bundle for myself because I have the base game.


While I support what Rdwoolf is saying slightly, I think not being able to get the DLC at any sort of discount like other games is ridiculous. All my other steam games simply take the main game off the purchase price and give the DLC bundle.

What's happening is, you cannot purchase the DLC in a bundle after buying the main game, which could be due to pricing or.....?

Yeah, I think they need to have a DLC only bundle. For all 5 DLC packs it's the same cost as the Deluxe version so people are essentially getting the base game for free or two free DLC packs while those who already have the base game have to pay more. Seems a bit unfair.

I came to say this. Glad I'm not the only one. Hopefully they will release a DLC-only pack (once every paid DLC comes out maybe?). That would be consumer friendly.
