IF YOU CAN'T START PLANET COASTER COME HERE MY CHILD

I struggled trying to get the game to run for a long time but alas i have found a solution paypal me $20 and i will tell you.

Solution 1
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Planet Coaster\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2015 and re-install. If you run 32 bit run the x86.exe. If you run 64bit then run the x64.exe. This is the one that fixed it for me.

Solution 2
Not a very straight forward one but another issue that might be making the game not work could be pending windows updates. Win 7: Search "Windows Update" in the start menu (bottom left screen)
Next Check for updates if you haven't already, Then install them. If it wont install there is a number of guides on youtube on how to fix that.

Question- why would anyone have a 32 bit os these days, especially as 32 bit pc isn't supported (as the min spec asks for 8 gb ram, not something you can do with 32 bit).

Def a windows update problem for me. Can't get SP1 to install on windows 7. Have tried every single fix for it I can find, and still nope! I'd rather spend my saturday diagnosing a windows problem anyway than finally getting to try this game! Thanks for the post though.

I cant get the game to run at all anymore. any help? windows 7, ive tried everything, windows updates all done, re-installed game, re installed c++ 2015, updated gfx drivers. it did work till a while ago?? says launching shows up in the task manager for a bit then disappears nothing happens?

I had done all of this, update, vc redist, all of it, still won't boot!

--FOUND THE ISSUE--

I booted the game and as soon as I unpluged my steam controller it worked! The game didn't launch like it always does and when I unpluged it appeared!!

This is ridiculous, ever since I got the steam controller -which I love- I had games launching in steam OS which is the worst when it comes to navigation and chat compared to the regular thing!I am uncertain if this is Steam OS related, just going by the rule of thumb!

Can't take credit for it, found a redit post where a user had debuged and figured it out, just spreading the gospel!

Well, thanks for spreading the gospel, I had to google this myself after the game just stopped launching a few days ago, this thread was one of the first links, and unplugging my xbox 360 controller fixed it right away.

I have a slightly different problem.
If I have Planet Coaster running on my PC, but have not touched neither the keyboard nor the mouse in about several min, my PC freezes forever, and only option do I have is to reboot it pushing a Reboot button.
I have a quite decent PC, it meets all system requirements, so it can't be a reason.
This completely destroys all of my positive experience with the game.
Does anyone have the same problem?
