How to close two or more gaps in a coaster

Ok gamer guys and girls, my question is how to connect a gap in a coaster, when there are two or more gaps so that the auto-finish thing doesn't work. What do I have to do to get this "connect" symbol?

The Story behind that question:
I build a new coaster today, and after the first dive I did some crazy stuff. Totally unrideable, because it was ways too hard. So I decided to make the first dive about half of its original height. The problem: I failed totally in connecting this gap again. My girlfriend tried a few minutes and got a symbol wich let her automatically connect the two open ends. But she forget to do the last part of the lifthill. So I had to destroy it again and neighter I nor she was able to recreate this symbol to connect that again (we tried with everything between nearly no space between the parts too something that felt like half of the park).

So are there any advises out there, to get this "connect" symbol? What are the requirements? Or are there other tipps and tricks to connect gaps like that?

So, und jetzt nochmal in Muttersprache: Habt ihr eine Idee, wie ihr ein Loch in einer Achterbahn wieder schließen könnt, wenn es zwei oder mehr solcher Stellen gibt und die Auto-Vervollständigung nicht funktioniert? Was muss ich tun, um innerhalb der Strecke dieses "Verbindungs-Symbol" zu bekommen?

Zur Geschichte dahinter:
Ich habe heute eine neue Achterbahn gebaut, und nach dem ersten Sturz ein paar echt verrückte Dinge eingebaut. Jedenfalls war das Ganze echt nicht fahrbar, und ich habe beschlossen, den Lifthügel nur etwa halb so hoch zu machen. Also zurück und den Lifthügel kleiner gemacht. Das Problem: Ich habs ums verr***** nicht hinbekommen, diese Lücke wieder zu schließen. Daraufhin hat meine Freundin es versucht und tatsächlich dieses "Verbindungs-Symbol" bekommen, dass die Lücke schloss. Nur hat sie leider vergessen den Lifthügel bis ganz nach oben zu bauen. Also nochmal alles abgerissen, den Lifthügel korrekt gebaut, und es dann einfach nicht hinbekommen, weder sie noch ich, dieses Symbol wieder zu bekommen, um die Lücke zu schließen (wir haben alles versucht, angefangen bei "es passt kein Blatt Papier mehr dazwischen bis hin zu - gefühlt - man könnte den halben Park in die Lücke bauen).

Hat also irgendwer von euch da draußen einen Hinweis, was man tun kann um dieses Symbol zu bekommen? Was sind die Vorraussetzungen dafür? Oder gibt es andere Tipps und Tricks, um solche Lücken zu schließen?

You need to select a track that comes just before a gap , which needs to be close enough to the track coming just after a gap (you still follow ? :) ) then the icon to connect will show on the track to append your selected track.

Mhm. I can follow, yes ^^.
But is there a defined "before" and "after"? Because you can build "backwards", if you are after a gap. And we tried to close the gap from both sides and got no option to append

I'll try again immediately anyways ;)

Nope there is no defined before and after, you can connect both ways.

I would like to show you a screenshot from what I mean. Thats so damn close, but there is only this "add part" symbol on the other track part.

So as you can see there is just this tiny gap, and there is no option to connect that. Neigther from the one nor from the other side :(

And if you try to select the track you want to connect, and add yourself a piece, does the symbol appears then ?

Edit: I think the connect symbol only shows if you didn't already build the last part of the track like you did in your screenshot. Let a larger gap, do like you want to connect them yourself, and before building it you should have the symbol to append them together.

The green part was not build yet. And it was not the shortest ot the largest option for this part. I could drag this part into the other track part, or leave an even greater gap. -> the symbol won't appear.

Edit: Both the parts where at the same hight (52m) and at 0° tilt btw

Well... I don't know what to say then, I'm out of ideas :) I will try to reproduce it when I can to test how it works.
