Then play at easy?
The correct answer would be "then play sandbox", which is what I'm going to do because honestly the financial aspect of this game is pretty bad.
Career looks like a tutorial to me.

Challenges is actually Career as most of us think of it. empty park, some funds, try to make money.
not sure why they flip it
The problem with challenge mode is that the initial funds are too low, so it takes too long to kickstart your park to a point where you can start expanding fast.
What this means is that you can't build anything fancy at the beginning with only $2000, you can only do ugly straight paths with ugly rides and ugly queues, and you have to suck that up until you start making decent money so you can start redesigning everything from scratch.
I think it's better to simply play sandbox mode right away, it saves you from playing those annoying first hours.
you can change that at the start of the game file. It defaults to medium
