ill take a guess terribly people with i5 reporting issues generally slower clock rates too

I haven't really made a massive park yet, but no problems so far. I got a laptop i3, but it benchmarks higher than some i5s.

My i3 is 2.9 GHZ. There, happy?

then frankly ur spec is well below other that are having major cpu issues so count your chickens and luckyness and enjoy the game :P

I am useing a phenom II 955, loading up the first pirate mission, the game, while not solid 60 all the way though, is still a very playable speed, and the game only really bogs down when the simulation is going, so pauseing the game to build feels pretty good.

as it stands, it maxes out a quad core so its threaded nicely at least up to 4 threads.

you have a slightly slower cpu then I have, so in the when the game is going, expect it to run bad, but you have a more powerful gpu than i do, so in the paused, you may hit 60... its a bit of a toss up, but this isnt a fps, you will more likely than not be able to play the game even if its going at a low fps.

half right here the game uses all avilable cpu for the simulation so if your frame rate is low cause of simualation pausing game is definatly a work around as this pauses the simulation. at pause if your frame rate isnt hitting 60 then your gpu probaly isnt powerfull enough try dropping gpu settings hope that helps

There was one ♥♥♥♥ gen for the current itnel cpu names, mobile i3's or possibly tablet i3's were garbage for quite a while longer, but the worst i3 on the desktop is the Intel Core i3-540, and an i5 comes in at Intel Core i5-520 which is actually worse then the i3,

Its part of the reason why when I see I3/I5/I7 as a minimum for games, I always remember that first run and know my phenom 955 is likely better.

its a bit of a balanceing act, some effects are clear and noticeable, some are barely noticeable unless you look real hard, the good thing is, most if not all effects are able to be seen in game without resting so checking them out isnt painful.

+1 do this

Thanks a lot guys, well doesn't look too god with my CPU I guess...
(Yep, i3-2100 is only a 3,1GHz dual-core with hyperthreading / 2nd Intel Gen. Sandybridge)

So as it stands, im reading posts of people with identical specs getting completely different results. i had 50 60 frames on mission 1, but i tried a park with 2 coasters and a few thrill rides with 1k guests and couldnt get above 17 fps. I meam i guess if you are fanboying super hard ten its playable, but thats not something id consider playable. Tbh the devs need to raise the minimum requirements if the game wont be optimized more. You should be able to get more than 20 frames end game if you are on low and have better specs than the minimum requirements.

sorry to say but your gonna struggle with just 2 cores, on the bigger parks the games keeping my 12 threads on the cpu at 80% + and even with that all i mange is 20-30 fps

Very good, I play on medium/high and it runs smooth... I have the exact same CPU.

playable is very dependant on the situation.

when you pause the cpu load almost goes away entirely, I have never personally ever built anything in any of the rollercoaster games while the game was not paused, so I see it as very playable.
