How do I select just 1 item and not multiple?

Im trying to edit some things in my park. When i select one item though for some reason it will select some 60 other random things so if i move it or delete it deletes all of these. Im assuming it is some blueprint option but i I just want to edit certain things not all of them at once.
So how do i select just one item at a time?

I suppose those items belong to a building or other item/blueprint. You need to click that building or whatever it is so it selects everything, then you need to click on "edit building". Then you can select individual parts and delete them or add more to it.

If you hold down CTRL then select the piece you want to move then choose the move option for that piece.I am pretty sure thats how i done it took me a while to figure out as i have only just started playing.

Thank you guys. the edit building option let me select single items to edit!
I did try to do the CTRL method but nothing happens. Weird
