When building your park, What do you do?
Do you build a finished park before letting guest in
or Do you play as you build, letting guest in early.

I don't play sandbox mode so I have to let guests in early.
Leaving the park closed or open is up to personal preference if you're in sandbox mode.

I let people in as I build. It was to quiet when I kept it closed. Plus I had to do that with scenarios to make money but I also do it with Sandbox. I like to hear the sounds of the park and to see where people gather around so I know where to put shops that can make good money.

I let them in so I can see where the paths get jammed up or whether cue lines are long enough, and what rides and restaurants they like or don't like, but mostly I leave the game paused while I build.

Thanks, I like to let them in also, but I was not sure if that was the way to play, as I have watched some youtube videos on building.and they seemed to just build, but the way I build, people would not get in until Christmas or later. Glad to know othes build as they play; I like that.

It would be a neat feature if guests reacted to your act of building.
Like they would look at the recently placed bit of scenery while walking or stop and take pictures if you place a ton of scenery.

Park guests in Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 would do this for coasters you're actively building.

That would be really nice to see guest taking pictures of your work. Maybe someday that will be in our game. It could turn into a contest if the game somehow counted how many guest took pictures. Maybe win a reward. Its fun to daydream.

Theres an "observation point" thingy you can place and guests will stop to admire the whatever and take some pictures. I stick a few of them if i do a nice vista so people will take notice of it :)

I play in sandbox a lot, what i do is build with park closed, with all shops and rides closed and no staff, then save it and open every so often to get the congestion points and where people go, write it down, go back to the save (unopened) and continue to build using my notes until i have a park big enough to use.
Remeber, at the moment, more people in the park, means lower fps.

When you play Career mode, it would probably wise to keep the cash flow going by keeping the park open. When in Sandbox, it's up to personal preference, but keeping guests out may be helpful for larger parks.

You can set guest limits on your park.
Having some guests walking around but not enough to seriously impact performance is nice too.

This is for me too. As well as sometimes you have to unpause anyway to test a ride.
