Staff will not stay in assigned work roster area + Staff building question
I had this problem before when I attempted to assign rosters. I created a work roster and assigned 2 janitors to that area... and watched as they walked through the specific are (cleaning, which is good!) and then directly out of that area towards the other end of the park.

Their assigned work roster includes 5 rides, 3 shops and 4 other. I've double checked whats included in that roster to make sure I didn't accidentally include something on the other side of the park.

When I created this work roster, I figured a new staff building in that area would be nice as the first one built is on the other side of the park. My staff are staying very happy with that original building and the new one, but will I need more staff buildings in each work roster area that offer different perks? It seems it would be nice to have ALL the perks available to every employee. Thanks for the input guys. Still new to the game and loving it!

Edit - I have edited one of the staff buildings that come with the game to include 2 more staff rooms for the option of more perks. Seemed like a good idea for later, but is this excess?

Rosters are a pain. It doesn’t surprise me that you’re having a prob with it.
In all the parks i’ve downloaded i’ve never seen more than 2 staff buildings used at one time.

Your staff may be leaving their assigned work areas due to three factors.

1. No staff building in their assigned work area.
2. The staff building in their area has not been included in the work roster for that area.
3. The staff building in the work are is full to capacity.

The staff members (janitors, mechanics, security guards, entertainers) will remain in their work areas as long as you have a staff building with enough capacity assigned to that areas' work roster. They will leave a work area to go to another area with with a staff room if there is no staff room available in their assigned work area or the staff building has no room for them. Just make sure the staff building is assigned to the work area roster. With four work areas you should only need four staff buildings with a capacity of 6 to 8 depending upon the workers that are going to use it.

The perks for an area staff building should be used depending upon what the area workers need. If most the staff in a work area are new and need training, set the perk to training. Once the workers are trained sufficiently, change the perk to happiness. You do not need multiple staff buildings with different perks in a work area. You just need to adjust the staff building perk for what that work area needs. I first use the training perk since workers trained to a skilled level resist being overworked or bored. Once they are trained I change the perk to happiness instead.

Four 8 capacity staff buildings should be enough to handle up to 32 workers at one time. All of the park workers are not going to need to use them at the same time unless you close down the park for renovation & cleaning.

Staff workers assigned to Free Roaming wil go anywhere in the park and use the nearest staff room when tired. You may need a free roaming janitor if the park gets very busy to clean up the vomit and trash if your work areas don't overlap or are too large for a single janitor to cover during his shift.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the support guys! I checked again, and those 2 janitors were back in their assigned roster zone. Perhaps they needed time to realize there was a new staff building?

Good to hear Billythx.
Maybe they were just asking Princess Amehlla out on an after-work date. :steamfacepalm:

^Haha! Speaking of the Princess, she also has an assigned work roster... which she seems to have stayed in!
