The best way to make a beach park is to start with a Decideous Terrain map. It's a larger map and has a paint scheme and tropical entryway into the park that lends itself to a beach theme. Then use the Terrain tools.
First select one of the sand terrains (it has two) as your default. Next using the push tool, set to 30m wide, lower a section of the park, where you want your lake to be, to maybe 15 meters. Then using the Water tool, set the water level marker on the shoreline. Next use the flatten to foundation tool to widen the water area to the shape you want your lake to to be. Then use the smooth tool around the edges of the lake. Then use the paint tool to paint your wider beach areas.
Then its just a matter of placing the scereny beach trees, palm trees, etc around the edges of your lake.
Hope this helps.
Ummm, can you explain to everyone how 'everyone would get less content' if/when the dev's developed a beach front map (with possibly one side of the map facing an ocean)?
I'm serious. I don't understand your logic.
Because they have limited time and people. That bit of time would be spent, not on new stuff for non lazy people, but on stuff everyone else can easily make themselves.
So people are 'lazy', to you, because they would like a beach front map that has an ocean front view? Ummm, ok. Simply put, no one can make an ocean front park because there is no map, nor possible way to create one, that is open to an ocean on at least one side. Sure you can build a park around a lake but that's not the same thing. In addition, asking for a map isn't preventing anyone from having any content whatsoever. If you lack any content it's because you haven't purchased any of the dlc's.
It 'replaces' ZERO content! Are you not aware that a map or two had been added to PC after it was launched?
Wrong again. Anything worked on prevents something else from being worked on. Frontier DO NOT have infinite time and resources.
So your issue is that you don't want more map variety/options. Boo hoo. The fact is that I am not wrong about anything. Even a new map is content that not even you would lose out on unless it was included in a dlc and you didn't buy that dlc. So why don't you simply state that you'd prefer something else than more maps? The OP stated they'd like more variety in the maps (more specifically a Beach map). I agree with the OP. It wouldn't take a thing away from the game at all! The dev team can always add other content at various times and sell it to you. You'd lose nothing! In fact it might even help to enhance everyone's gaming experience with this game and possibly even prolong its life span.
I've been really wanting to make a boardwalk park on a beach but have been holding out in hopes that we'll get one some day. The current maps are not at all the same as an actual ocean/beach biome.
Your request for more biomes is totally warrented and something the game needs more of. Best to just ignore people who like to argue.
