My hotel is a "dump"

I have a workshop hotel I'm using. It's a beautifully decorated building and I've added tons of scenery outside to increase the rating. I have enabled all perks as well because the guests whine if any are missing. Everyone seems to love the hotel once they get inside, but right before they get to the foyer, every guest complains that my hotel looks like a dump. How do I fix this? It doesn't matter that I have a 100% scenery rating and all perks - they still diss my hotel! Why?

Do you have any janitors assigned to cleaning it? If not it's probably a dump from all the garbage being left inside..

Yes, I do. I even hired a janitor whose only job was to clean hotel rooms. He just stood outside the entrance and idled.

I am having the same problem. I've assigned a janitor to the hotel and given him a work roster that only includes the hotel. I've set his tasks to only "Clean Facilities" and all he will do is go to the door and turn around. He will not clean it. Is there something in setting up a scenario that turns on or off the ability to clean hotels? Because maybe that was not set for the one I am playing.

I wonder if this is a recent bug?

I fixed my problem by closing the hotel for a minute and then reopening it. I did not have this problem after that.

Unlikely to be a "recent" bug. This game hasn't seen an update for a lo-o-ong time.

is there enough space on the path in front of your restaurant entrance ? bcause people can block each other quite nicely in large crowds and then the janitor also has problems gettin inside

another possibility : staff building too far away

did you create a work rooster for the hotel ?

Remove decorations from front of the hotel - slightly elevate to make better pathing and see if he goes inside

Because the guests are obviously clones of the Developers who worked on this game and they couldn't tell the difference between a palace and a cesspool.
