I get you. That's not a possibility to us normal users, as far as I'm aware. Make a nice picture of the workshop content in game, as good as you can I suggest. Some people however go through great lengths, and actually make that picture of a bill board loaded with any image you'd like...

However, apart from the one thumbnail that shows up here on Steam Workshop, you can also add video and different screenshots or images to that item. You can find that option within the steam workshop title page. Hope this helps.

when u save the blueprint just make sure u have the pic u want everyone to see. Just re-save it if u don’t overwriting the original. You just have to find it within your blueprints list.

I have not tried it, but apparently this is the procedure:
1. Save the image you want to a location of your choice on your hard drive with the same file name as the one you want to replace.
2. Enter the workshop.
3. Under your workshop files, select files you posted.
4. Click the item in your workshop that you want to change.
5. Under owner controls, click add / edit images and videos.
6. Click choose files, navigate to the image you saved in step 1 and click on it.
7. click upload.
The information on the page says, " Uploading images with the same filename will replace any you have already uploaded for this item".

You could also delete the item from the workshop, create a new blueprint in the game with the image you would rather have and upload the new blueprint to the workshop.
This doesn't work for me. Maybe this is a game-specific thing?
If your Workshop is posted already, just follow the instructions about the Workshop thumbnail for your game. Ex: On the game I posted a Workshop file, it says that the Thumbnail must be a png called "preview.png".

If you follow the instructions, just re-upload the Workshop, if it has a generated ini file from the workshop already, Steam will update the data and your Thumbnail will be there. Just make sure your file is not more than 2MB or Steam will reject the file
