Track Connection Problem- Fixed Issue: Terrain
Trying to build a coaster, as you do, however I wanted to replace a section of track, no problem until I tried to connect the two tracks again. What I wanted to see was the simple connection piece icon, however all I got was the add track icon when looking on the other track that I wanted to connect to.
Not sure why it's doing this, built a simple coaster off to the side and did not have this problem, is there something that I'm missing, been a while since I've played the game so not up-to-date on updates.
Pic for clarification

The gap is too small. There is no piece that will be small enough to fit. Try shrinking the piece on the left and/or the right to give the next piece more room, or, lengthen a piece on the left or right until the "puzzle-piece" icon shows up and let it connect automatically.

Also, the 3D view can be misleading. Try checking it from different angles. You might find out that, in order to connect, the piece would have to turn 90 degrees or some such, and most of the tracks can't do that in too short a space.

Seems to be that isn't the issue...
I did another test of the weirdness that it is, seems to be the track piece itself that is the issue...
Here is the example:

Went to end of track where same piece that I am trying to connect just goes to, from another attempt to fix- Still same issue

Deleted a section off to it, on it's own

"It just works"

The length of the track was at max and was a bit of a turn and drop, so it seems to be some sort of track issue...
I could just redo the entire track piece that is causing the problem, but it doesn't make sense why this simply won't work

Pik 3, looks to me like a very extreme turn. It's no wonder the game struggled to connect! Maybe need to move the piece on the right side of the picture a little more to its left and/or down a little before attempting a connection.

And get rid of the extra piece in the middle of Pik 2. I've never been able to complete a coaster with floaty pieces in the middle like that.

Although, now that's it's connected, maybe you just need to select a section and click "Straighten Track Height" so it'll be less extreme.

well... I didn't do what you said to do... but seems to be that something worked, but it has to be in the super specific conditions

Disconnected a turn piece that can kinda be seen in pik 1, before that is just a straight section that goes all the way to the station, before it had to turn, deleted a section, connected the middle piece to the end with some jank turn, doesn't matter, it just works...

Anyways, because it's exactly straight and has exact proportions, it could connect exactly... of course this is the perfect setting...

also not sure if you understood the example, pic 1 simply removed a piece so i left that middle piece seen in pic 2, yeah don't usually leave track sitting there but it was an example...

Hold up, nvm, seems to be a terrain issue actually... made blueprint of exact copy of the ride, except the scenery, and seems to work just fine... I was able to reproduce the issue by laying track close to the ground at a turn.... Because the ground is to close, the connect function won't work...

Still doesn't explain why my second example didn't work...
Might be due to that entire track piece having a section that was close to the ground, so entire track just couldn't do it... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well anyways thanks for the help tho, and for anyone with similar issue, this can be a problem of such, I tried looking, they just said "fixed it" and no explanation....
