Customers ALWAYS Reportedly THIRSTY?
I'm a beginner, let's start it off with that but I have a long history of playing Roller Coaster Tycoon games of long-past. So, I'm kinda confused as to why I can have a SMALL park of say, 3-5 rides of the Campaign Mission 1 and 2 Pirate related missions, I can have 4 Drink stalls scattered everywhere and I still get complaints that PEOPLE ARE THIRSTY! WHY! It's irritating.

Like, in Roller Coaster Tycoon, the customers were not as retarded, I could make 1 or 2 giant Food Courts and customers would find their way there. In this game I could have drink stalls every 20 meters away from one-another and still get complaints that every 5 minutes, SOMEONE BE THIRSTY. WHHYYYY! Cause then after I build a ♥♥♥♥ ton of Drink stalls, they barely make any profit, lose money, then the workers start whining about how there's nothing to do because customers are either in high traffic or extremely minimal traffic and never in the middle.

I don't get the AI of the customers, they're morons. Is there anything to do to fix their constant complaining even though I feel like I've done MORE than enough work?

I can't build too many, I can't build too little, I can't over-train without compensating and raising salaries, how do I stop a worker or servicer from being bored while at the same time customers want to drink, but repeatedly show me that drink stalls are losing money yet I never hear about 'Too expensive' prices.

You will ALWAYS have thirsty complaints because it counts everybody in queues too. Long waits = thirsty peeps.

Maybe someday they will sort queue needs out of the data pool. Until then, ignore it.

Shop placement matters, as does drink type. Peeps have preferences.

This game seems to focus more on simulation than strategy. In a typical strategy game, thirst from queues would have been abstracted to be non-existent and moderation mechanics introduced that may scale with progress. In other words, what you do to address specific issues matters and moderation mechanics check overall progress rate, not nullify your actions to address specific issues. But I guess that's how simulation games are.

I agree twe70.

I've yet to get the thirst stat bar into the green. If they removed the number of thirsty peeps in lines, I bet the stats would be better.

I have multiple drink shops at both exit lines of my monorail line, and the peeps use them after getting off the ride. It was an interesting study, because there is another shop area a little ways away from both sides of the monorail exit, but peeps wouldn't go directly too them. It seems peeps will choose getting on another ride over fulfilling a dire need.

It's interesting watching random peeps. Sometimes they do exactly as you expect, and fulfill all their needs, befor going to a ride. Sometimes yo watch them heading to the toilet AT the entrance of a coaster, and just two feet away, they change their mind and get in the LONG line for the coaster instead.

They must have ADD.

As long as their happiness rating is high you shouldn't worry too much about their demands, they'll get around to it eventually. It is very annoying seeing them complain about needing a stall as they walk right by it...grrrrrr

Stalls have very minimal impact on your rating/happiness, you could turn off all your stalls and your guests will still come to your park and spend the same amount of time.

lmao. So it sounds like the smartest idea is to have a bloody drink stall right next to the entrence of every popular and long-lined ride - either that or make it so lines are intentionally short or medium in length rather than horribly long. In RCT it didn't matter, but clearly queue time will in this.

my last campaign I experimented with how much I could charge before they complained about 'Too expensive!' even though the queue was roughly 60-70 minutes and I could charge almost $50 for a default roller coaster, it was maddening how greedy I felt because things being 'prestige' or highly sought means I have to ignore being self-conscious about 'overcharging my E-patrons' in my virtual park.... They'd complain about high prices but it'd still get full, better that than them complaining about great value and me being low on dough.

Except that taking their money too quickly isn't the best idea. They will still stay in your park for an hour or two, and not be able to ride anything, nor satisfy needs at shops. I don't know how detrimental that is to the park rating though. I do paid park entry and free rides, and still suck every last penny out of them.

Well, I'll have to experiment more with it, I'm the evil type who charges money at bathrooms. Wouldn't people stay in parks longer if I also flood ATM machines everywhere? xD

People generally don't leave unless they are really pis sed.
Stay duration is a peep trait (like fear/nausea limits), so it varies.

ATM usage is also a trait, and very few will use them. If everybody used them, the easy game would be even easier. So, ATM's are needed, but I wouldn't spam your park with them (running costs) unless you are making so much money it doesn't matter (which is often the case).
